Ben More and Stob Binnein. Two Munros; leaving from a layby on the A85 next to Loch Lubhair, close to Crianlarich. Very steep ascent and descent for most of the route. Boggy ground in places with some scrambling on Ben More. Walk is approx 7.5 miles with 1335m of ascent. 8:00

Cairnpapple and the Inn of the Knights Templar 10 miles circular from Torpichen around
the Bathgate Hills and Beecraigs Park, taking in 4 small hills including Cairnpapple Hill which has a Neolithic ceremonial monument (entry £5). Finishing with refreshment in the historical Torpichen Inn.

An Caistel with Beinn a’Chroin. Two Munros starting from a layby about
1 mile south of Crianlarich. Distance
is 9 miles with 3500ft of ascent.
From Greenock via Tarbet for a toilet stop. The route from the layby is via a short track, then paths most of the way to the summits which are 3265 and 3090 feet respectively.
The paths are rocky in places and the upper slopes are rocky and somewhat rugged. There is also a short ridge traverse.
This is a walk over moderately challenging terrain, rocky in places, boggy in others. Therefore, full equipment is needed, boots, poles and waterproofs plus sufficient additional food and clothing.

Beinn Chabhair, a Munro starting from Inverarnan and up beside the waterfall visible across the River Falloch from Drovers. Distance is 10 miles, 3085 ft total climb to reach summit at 3060 ft. Steep and stony climb beside the waterfall at the start, then very boggy steep climbing over the open moorland. The ridge to the summit is relatively easy going.
Full equipment is needed, boots, poles and waterproofs plus sufficient additional food and clothing, a clothing change is recommended.

Ayr – Town, River and Valley walk. Pleasant riverside walk from the centre of Ayr along the River Ayr, around low hills on both sides of the valley. Although a lengthy walk of just over 10 miles, there are only a few gradual climbs with views over the valley.

This is a beach, path and pavement walk along one of the busier sections of the Ayrshire Coastal Path. Boots, poles and waterproofs recommended. Drive to Troon and catch train to Ayr, then walk back.
